It appears that you've put a good amount of effort into your article and I demand a lot more of these on the web these days. I sincerely got a kick out of your post. I do not have a bunch to to say in reply, I only wanted to register to say remarkable work.

I wanted to ask, is there any chance for a modified version of the directory listing script, with an iphone-stylish like design?

Keep up the great work on and off the bike. Off the bike is your site here and twitter. You're a great twitterer, up there with the legendary greats. And I'm sure you could be the same on the bike.

Very insightful, thank you for your comment. Sent an email.

Hey Roger,

Cycling and horses don't exactly go hand in hand. I was brought up with an extensive background in the horse industry which helped me financially get started with cycling and offered a chance to race/train in cool places. Metaphorically speaking the egg will be my upbringing in the "pony" industry hatching to reveal some bike dood. Haha

I am sure other cyclists would agree with this perspective, but I've never seen it enumerated in such an eloquent and insightful fashion. Kudos!

It seems too good to be true that you were also a horse rider. I wonder which occurred first, the chicken or the egg, you riding a bicycle or you riding a horse and did one lead to the other? And are they the same or different. I don't know of many elite level cyclists that have a horse riding background, perhaps it's more widespread that once thought?

The opinionated barista is pleased with this response. Especially the Phantom of the Opera reference. Anyways, I was pondering a bit about night vs day after you left, and I realized that almost every enjoyable activity becomes more enjoyable at night time. I guess because with darkness comes a heightened sense of awareness, so everything that we feel or encounter is affected by this and each sense is similarly magnified.
However, although i find the night preferable as well, I think many people could point out that both of us grew up in comparatively safe environments (Canada and Orange County) and that this has lulled us into a false sense of security about the night and its often realistic horrors. so while people in the wilderness or a city riddled with gang violence feel real fear at night, we only experience a small amount of fear, which just registers as excitement.
Also, day time can always pull out that "goodness and truth" card if it needs to because of our associations with light and darkness.
And theres something to be said about trudging out of the icy pacific ocean, falling on the sand, and letting the sun slowly warm you back to life as you watch the little beads of water on your arm evaporate before your eyes.
so heres a little something for the sun to say, you are defeated, but you are still amazing

It is Born
Here I came to the very edge
where nothing at al needs saying
everything is absorbed through weather and sea
and the moon swam back
its rays all silvered
and time and again the darkness would be broken
by the crash of a wave
and every day on the balcony of the sea
wings open
fire is born
and everything is blue again like morning
-Neruda

which leads me to my next query:
dawn or dusk?
